September 2008 Excavation

Trench 4 was re-opened in September 2008 to attempt to find the centre of the barrow and a primary burial. Due to adverse weather conditions the scope of excavations were again restricted and no primary burial was found, however additional environmental evidence was obtained and this has subsequently been analysed as described in the reports below.
